About Pissweak Superheroes
Pissweak Superheroes is an animated feature film and web series brought to you by the team who won 8 Awards and 8 Official Selections with their first feature film made for ten thousand Australian Dollars. I am Bish was shot by an all-volunteer cast and crew (including more than 300 zombie volunteers) and is a flat out comedy spoof based on the idea of - what would I am Legend have been like if the last guy on Earth was an average guy - below average actually and also stars up and comer, Siobhan Dow-Hall who recently appeared in the mini-series Cloudstreet.
Thanks to Alliance Motion Pictures, I am Bish managed to secure what may be one of the last indie DVD distribution deals that ever gets done for a micro-budget production. DVD is the new Betamax Video, you heard it here first. And now we're kind of in an in-between place for independent film. Online distribution is getting up to speed but it's a rapidly changing field and one thing is for certain - for a least the next decade, any independent film that wants to make any money at all is going to need to be good enough to earn a viral audience and smart enough able to draw value from anyone watching it (even if they got it through a torrent).
The idea for Pissweak Superheroes was born about six beers and two ciders (don't hate us we needed a palette cleanser) after the Co-Directors of I am Bish finished recording the commentary track. It is the story of Crusader (who is just a little bit like Batman) and MegaDude (who is just a little bit like Superman), once the world's finest superheroes but now, ten years after they beat the last of the super-villains, they're struggling to find relevance, sponsorship and (in Crusader's who is a regular human being and therefore prone to beer-gut ... and goggles ... case) ... chicks.
