Roids, AKA Brian Boner, gained super-strength and virtual indestructibility after ingesting a batch of irradiated protein supplements. He is able to maintain his human form so long as his blood sugar does not drop below a certain level, prompting his famous phrase, "Don't make me hungry, you wouldn't like me when I'm Hungry."

Once transformed into Roids, Boner loses his capacity for higher-reasoning and is overtaken by an insatiable desire to smash things.
